Hei, odlocla sm se da bom od zdej naprej usak nov blog entry zacela s citatom. Tale je iz ene 8-minutne performance ameriske reprezentantke. Tud Sean je dostkrat tekmovou na svetovnem sam ma zadn let probleme zard poskodbe hrbta. Feel sorry for him.
Ce se vrnem k bistvu – what’s the point of retiring anyways?!? Poglejmo si par primerov (opomba – vse se nanasa na Sport Of Baton Twirling in WBTF – World Baton Twirling Federation)…
~Hollie Neilson (Canada): Prvic tekmovala na svetovnem leta 1996. Prvic zmagala na svetovnem leta 1998. Od takrt naprej samo zmagovala. Dokler se ni leta 2002 ‘upokojila’. In stara je bla 19. Grand champions ponavad tekmujejo tm nek do 30. leta. Tole sta dva komentarja na njeno 2002 performance: “This routine was Hollie’s goodbye, she poored her heart and soul into it and the detailed dance work and technique does enough. She already had proven herself the year before with bjork. Remember baton isn’t always about the tricks, ya if you want to win you need them but you need Hollie’s technique to even compare.” in se “Hollie Retired because she just graduated from high school and was moving on with her life. She is becoming a dentist!”
~Cory Archer (Canada): O njem ne vem velik, ampak edn njegovih njvecjih dosezkov je vrjetn zmaga v 3-baton senior (level A). Jap, tud kategorija za 3 palce obstaja. In za 2 af kors. Najbolsi male twirler from Canada ever. Star je prblizn 18… in 2007 je bla njegova zadna sezona. Tole je iz njegovga spejsa: “However, after much thought, I have decided that the time has come for me to retire. I don’t have the money, the desire, or the passion to do another year of this stress.”
~Jennifer Marcus (USA): Svetovna prvakinja v multiple baton events od leta 2005 naprej. Na zadnem svetovnem edina non-japanese athlete, da je bla pr solo free-style na stopnickah. Se en komentar na njeno routine iz 2006: “…efortless it looks. It is like breathing. I know what she does is incredibly difficult and takes a ridiculous amount of work but she makes it look like the most natural thing in the world. Fluid, graceful, mesmerizing… never met anyone who doesn’t love to watch her everytime she performs…people rush to see her when her name is announced..few twirlers have that kind of effect on soooo many people!” In letos baje zadnic tekmuje.
Ok dost primerov zalostnih zgodbic… let me finish this z eno lepo:
Anetta Lucero (USA): Leta 1983 je trenerala po 12 ur na dan. Sploh ni hodila u solo. In valda zmagala na svetovnem. Ampak je na konc naredla eno manjso napakco in zato za tehniko dobila “samo” 9.9. (Free-style se ocenjuje v dveh delih – technical merit in artistic expression). Po 25 letih jo to se zmeri muc u nocnih morah. Ampak ji je uspel ustvarit ever-lasting kariero. Pr 43 letih se zmeri nastopa, dela u “cirkusih” (u narekovajih zato ker so te ameriski cirkusi neki druzga kokr samo mucenje zivali in shiny oblekce), zivi na Havajih in ma 4 otroke. To se slis se dokaj normalno, but read this: ma epilepsijo. En sindrom (k nism razumela kasn). In se neki narobe z mozgani (k nism razumela kaj tocn). Usega skupi je mela prblizn 14 vecjih poskodb…in k jo novinar prasa, ce se je ze gdaj poskodovala, rece: “Ammm…I’ve broken my nose. Five times. Lost 9 teeth. Split my head up a few times, had a knee surgery, some broken fingers and pulled muscels…other than that I’ve been fine.” PS, je zenska rekorderka v spinih (to so uni ta hitri obrati na eni nogi na polprstih medtem k je druga pr gleznju stojne) – vrzes palco nardis spin, 2, 3, kokr pac znas,…njej jih je ratal 9. “She’s more than a role model, she’s a hero!”
Za konc…ful sm bla sokerana, k sm zvedla da bo Jennifer nehala and I couldn’t bottle up my anger anymore. I’m starting to feel better now. Upam, da se bojo tud ostali zacel zgledvt po japoncih, k vecinoma tekmujejo do 30. leta, ampak se zmeri zgledajo kokr da bi bli mal cez 20…
